The Global HR Leadership Team of our energy client had not come together in 13 years, with many leaders never having met in person. With the HR function undergoing a significant transformation of systems and ways of working, there was a clear objective to connect this group, create excitement for the future, build trust and relationships within the team, influence and understand HR’s role in the transformation and innovate on how the function can contribute towards delivering the company’s strategy. 

In collaboration with the Executive Vice President of HR, Group HR Director and Global Learning & Development Director, Afiniti designed and delivered an engaging, interactive 3-day change workshop which generated valuable, tangible output in line with the agreed objectives. It covered HR’s achievements and goals for 2024, a deep-dive into the transformation, the CEO’s strategic vision, finance and investor relations, the employee lifecycle, culture and behaviours. 

The output highlighted HR’s role in the performance of the business, and feeds a strategic roadmap of activity for HR. By the end of the workshop, the 53 members of the Global HR Leadership Team who attended from all over the world, came together as an inspired set of champions, ready for the transformation ahead and equipped to start thinking about how HR can add more value to the business.

We worked in deep collaboration with members of the HR Senior Leadership over several weeks:  

  • We thought-partnered with Senior Leadership Team members on agenda design and flow to shape an impactful three days. 
  • Once content was agreed, we prepared a detailed agenda and core materials, from a slide deck and speaker notes, to printed materials for an inclusive and successful HR Leadership workshop. 
  • We delivered a high-energy, insightful and creative 3-day workshop to the HR Leadership Team, increasing understanding of and buy-in to upcoming changes within HR, empowering the team to network with fellow leaders, and developing a strategic mindset around how they can contribute to productivity, performance and reduce cost of loss. 
  • We uncovered what the HR Transformation means for HR leaders, HR teams, line managers and employees, and what HR could stop, start and continue doing to deliver a better employee experience.
  • We produced a comprehensive change workshop output report, which documented the output from the 3-day workshop with key insights and next steps.
