Until now, the content development process within Life Sciences has been characterised by repetitive manual tasks​, multiple resource needs​, long development lead times​ and many isolated Proof of Concepts developed to address these challenges (with duplicative associated upskilling). There has been no single, consolidated effort to coordinate and take the lead on how to streamline and enhance content development and ultimately accelerate the time to get medicines to market.

In early 2024, a global pharmaceutical and diagnostics company engaged Afiniti to help create a compelling narrative that would attract the attention of senior leadership and gain enough traction to build and scale an AI data and content generation capability across the development timeline. This support would help progress the initiative to selecting a technology vendor to build a capability that accelerates content development across the development lifecycle. The multidimensional capability would create an AI-augmented workplace where a human / AI partnership would work together seamlessly to drive acceleration, using a suite of authoring tools to boost productivity while continuously learning and improving the more it is used – as such developing something entirely new and pioneering within the industry.

  • Guidance and coaching leaders to help develop a more holistic, end-to-end view of how to leverage AI for developing data and content to unlock exponential efficiency gains – and build that into the narrative.
  • Forging strong relationships with key stakeholders through targeted engagement and flexible, specific content design that incited curiosity, addressed key questions, and ‘connected the dots’ across other similar strategic efforts to form a consolidated picture of how generative AI can transform holistic content development.
  • Developing a series of user journeys that provide an effective and engaging onboarding experience with the team and concept (depending on their ‘role’ and reason for engagement).
  • Simplifying a complex story into a compelling narrative that is easy to tell and:

– Brings to life the capabilities required to accelerate content development through digital technology at scale

– Focuses on the benefits and value at stake

– Is closely connected to the content challenges currently being faced

  • Design of an engaging and productive workshop bringing together 5 different functions to identify the right use cases to further the project towards the selection of a technology vendor.

  • Thinking ahead about how users and stakeholders will engage with the capability through a user journey framework that both engages and provides the right information at the right time.
  • Afiniti’s contribution to the strategic narrative and engagement has helped senior leadership align behind one common effort to transform ways of working with content by co-creating a consistent AI data and content generation ability; and ultimately securing funding for the next phase of the proof of concept.
