Project Overview
The energy industry is transforming, and therefore our oil & gas client are on a mission to transform as well, empowering their teams to be smarter, faster and better connected. This programme was their key to achieving this, aiming to drive the transformation of project and service delivery by harnessing the power of data, using the latest digital technology, evolving systems and processes and empowering people and clients. As a result, our client aims to become an industry-leading, data-driven business of the future.
Afiniti were engaged as a business change partner, providing change management services to the programme and its associated projects. Blending our in-house disciplines of communications, learning, project management and strategy, the work called for the introduction and delivery of a range of applications and tools designed to create more standardised, connected ways of working.
Projects in the programme include; Common Data Environment (CDE), Citizen Developer, CWBS & 7Resource, Data Governance, Digital Twin, Integrated Engineering Platform (IEP), Logistics & Material Tracking, PMO, Project Portal, SAP Ariba, Teamcenter (PLM) and the Vessel Data Initiative.
Our Solution
As the business change partner for the digitalisation programme, we have:
- Delivered a strong and compelling visual identity and core template set to facilitate and support communications, driving engagement. These were all on brand, but they also stand out to carry messaging visually, enhancing reach to desired audiences.
- Developed a key message framework and supporting narrative to ensure clear and consistent communications while the organisation is transforming digitally.
- Built a Core Digitalisation engagement deck containing the key information for stakeholders to draw from when engaging people around the programme.
- Created a Digitalisation overview animation that clearly articulated the Digitalisation vision, objective and associated roadmap, focusing on exciting and engaging people behind the change.
- Developed an overarching business change strategy, which included a high-level impact assessment and benefits overview across the Digitalisation programme as well as approaches for change management, communications and engagement and learning.

- The digitalisation programme had a clear identity and story that stakeholders could buy into.
- Sponsors and leaders had the tools they needed to confidently share consistent messages about the programme.
- People were excited about the change journey and wanted to be part of the change, with more than 150 people joining the digital adoption network.
- A real focus on building awareness of the change and the benefits of digitally transforming, meaning the original challenge was being tackled and the risk related to adoption and benefit realisation is reduced.
